Long Weekend

IMAG0174

Didn’t have a whole lot of time for fiber fun this weekend, but I don’t think I’d shared these recent spins with you yet-

Above, clockwise from top we’ve got Frank/Felix soft spun singles, a pearly grey Romney two-ply from Sand Hill Farm, and a fun blend of Frank/Felix, white alpaca and blue and wine colored mohair.

IMAG0173

I am really in love with the F & F singles. They are a beautiful creamy opaque white, and so soft and lofty.

Work up really quick, too, from hand combed top!

And just in time to be put away for the summer, here are the finally completed sweaters!

3/4 sleeve colorwork raglan:

roll-edge natural shades raglan:

and Huey and Frank Oregon vest!

New project: socks for Oscar (my nephew)!

Have a great week-

My Little Boys are Growing Up

He still looks like a crazy little baby

My Little Chone

But he’s got Big Boy teeth!

Big Boy Teeth

Neat, eh?

And speaking of little babes, my cousin and his wife just had a boy this week-
So, this little White Sox bear will be shipping out tomorrow to hang with Charlie Ross.

Charlie's Bear

In other news, Stashbuster sweaters are nearing completion:

Stashbuster1

Decided on 3/4 sleeves for this one, so it will be finished as soon as I can get those last few rows of colorwork done!

Stashbuster2

And this guy needs a little more length on both body and arms, but I’m sooooooo close!

I’ll sign off with the spin of the week-

Spike

That’s approximately 360 yards of steely grey Spike-y goodness! (my pick from Schoonover Farms shearing day this year)

Works (still) in Progress

I know I shouldn’t let it get to me, but I am always uneasy when I have too many projects hanging out unfinished.

Don’t get me wrong- The Stashbuster Raglan is going well,

IMG_2986

Quite well, actually. That guy is the least of my concerns.

I still have ends to weave and zipper to install in the Huey/Franklin Oregon Vest…..

IMG_2993

It’s lovely. And I want to wear it. But there’s that dang zipper to sew in.

And diving back further into project history is the PREVIOUS stashbuster raglan!

IMG_2985

Dag. I love this sweater too. Its just hard to get back in the groove with that colorwork on the sleeves.

Then there is the “never was a clearly defined project in the first place, but I ought to turn it into something” category-

IMG_2991

Its about 38″ long, 9″ wide strip of brioche stitch. I’m taking suggestions what it might want to be.

And also a bear without a face.

IMG_2994

These little guys never look like much until they have eyes and a nose.
Then I have to do a little White Sox logo on his sweater.

Wish me luck.
