This is February

It’s still winter outside.

But inside, I’m thinking of Spring.

It won’t be long until we’re pruning fruit trees

And planning this year’s garden

(I sure hope April looks like that again this year!)

February is also prime spinning time.
I’m just about done working up blended batts into singles,

and I’m playing with the idea of a faux-Zauberball type yarn, but in a worsted or aran weight.
Because, wouldn’t that be awesome?!

Just Because

Zauberball.

I am powerless to resist Zauberball.

And you can never have too many cool socks.

So there you go.

Still not quite ready to resume Autumn’s End.
It was going fine, but I’m at that point where the body gets joined to the arms and the yoke shaping starts (in an overall lace pattern) And I don’t have enough available memory (or attention span) to process that right at the moment.

For now I’m content to watch the colors change as I K2 P1 over the next 7 inches of cuff.

Almost Expo Time!

Just a reminder that next Saturday is the WSU Country Living Expo in Stanwood.

So I have to get myself organized! Wool to play with, carders, combs, wheel(s)?, wheel first aid kit, etc etc.
I’ll have the subaru pretty well stuffed I think.

My one regret in signing up to do five sessions of classes is that I won’t have any time to go any other classes myself.
But it’s always fun to talk to folks about wool and get people started spinning, so it should be a great day.

In other news, I’ve expanded my Etsy offerings to include some yarn- selected groupings of coordinated shades both naturals and dyed/blended of about 5 ounces each. Enough for a hat, cowl or other small project.

Have a great week!

Meet Wee Edgar!

Such a handsome fellow

And looking sharp in his cable knit sweater

He was fun to make. The pattern is really well written and detailed.
A bit fussy with the finishing (lots of sewing and ends) but turned out really cute-

and a pretty good likeness I think!
