Coming Up for Air

August has been quite a month.

Many blog-worthy things have transpired (processing roosters, knitting retreat, eclipse, etc), but I didn’t have a chance to post about them.

And then yesterday, the last day of August 2017, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Sadie pup.
She was an old girl, and had been dealing with multiple health issues over the last few months.
She went out peacefully, surrounded by folks who loved her, and with a cookie in her mouth.

Sadie was about as easy-going and sweet a girl as you could imagine.

Poolside Progress

Florida is mighty hot in August.
Almost too hot to knit.

Zephyr Cove shawl and I are finding the pool makes it much more tolerable.

Zephyr cove has been a good travel project. Easy repeats on circular needles. Though i am getting a little anxious for the color change. The Scottish Moss (acid green) is going to be fun!

Driving Miss Esther

Yesterday we brought a new girl home 🙂

Her name is Esther, and she’s of CVM/Romney/Icelandic parentage- so kind of a big full-figured gal. Too much sheep for the back of the Subaru! (how I brought Dottie home last year), so we had to get out the big blue truck.

Here is Esther contemplating the ramp we rigged up to get her into the back…..

Thankfully it wasn’t a very long trip, and we got her back out of the truck and settled at home without much fuss. She’s a sweet sheep and was a pretty good sport about the whole thing 🙂

Esther 7-29-17

She’s just getting her bearings in her new environment, and Dottie has been making sure she knows who is the boss out there, but I think that she’s going to be a great member of the flock, and a good buddy (she’s very people-friendly).
