FO, WIP and New Acquisition

The Finished Object (not wool related, but bear with me!)-

Chickens are out of the shop and into their new digs:

Just finished the coop and got the girls out on grass for the first time this afternoon!

The WIP (starting to feel like the perpetual wip!) is finally all on one needle and creeping slowly towards it’s saddle-shouldered, v-necked finish:

And the New Acquisition- is a beautiful book I happened upon at NW Handspun yarns this week.

It’s Poetry in Stitches, by Solveig Hisdal, and while I just discovered it, I guess it was published quite some time ago and has been out of print for a bit.
Lots of fabulous colorwork- Just what I’ll need after finishing the gradient project!

Yes. Sheep. Soon.

Today The Man and I went up to Marietta Shetlands in Bellingham, to see all their little lambs- and two little guys in particular.

These two cuties are going to be my first sheeps!

John said that the little boys will be ready to leave their momma in early June.
I’m so excited.

I’m finally going to have sheep!

Knitting continues, albeit slowly, on the gradient sweater:

I’m getting really close to the exciting part- when I get to put the pieces together and work the shoulder shaping and neckline!

Hats and other Distractions

It’s turns out that Huey’s swatch was so compelling that I just couldn’t stop.
When I ran out of Huey yarn, I dug some other compatible shetland out of the stash and made it into a hat.

It is so thick and toasty.
Probably too warm for spring,, so it might go into the “gifting” stash drawer for next winter.
(If I can keep it off my own head.)

No new pics of the gradient sweater yet. I’ve for both sleeves in the works, but progress has been slow of late.

And on the fence front, we put in the last 7 posts for the pasture perimeter on Saturday!
Should have gotten a picture of that, but didn’t think of it at the time, and it’s all rainy and nasty out there now.

Will document better once the sunshine reemerges.

Have a good week!
