It’s October Already!

I haven’t made much progress yet on Autumn’s End, mostly because I was prepping for the Harvest market that was Saturday.

It was kind of a crazy weather day, with heavy rain showers off and on most of the morning and afternoon- and it was a little dim in the barn.

Lots of interest, but not much the way of sales. Hopefully folks will be in a little more of a gift buying frame of mind next month at the Holiday Market.

I’m also thinking more and more about getting myself organized and listing items on Etsy, but I’m not quite there yet. Hopefully more on that soon!

In sweater news, I have made just a small bit of progress,

but a big breakthrough in finally understanding some of the directions in the pattern, so that’s cool. For some reason I was having a hard time wrapping my head around how new stitches got incorporated into the charted pattern, but now that I’m a little ways into it, it makes sense. yay. 🙂

Also got a little spinning done today while watching football.

More Griff singles for the sweater, and a nice squishy rich brown romney/rambouillet chain ply just because. Mmmm.

Go Hawks!

Beginning of Autumn’s End

Thanks to Michelle’s suggestion last week, I have found a Next Sweater!

And so I’ve been swatching-

And I have decided to go with the lightest weight of the yarn options- Griff singles.
So now the spinning begins.

I’ve cast on for a sleeve, but haven’t gotten very far yet.

And since it’s not exactly cruise-control knitting, so I’ve also got another hat going for keeping the hands busy during football games and such-

Here are the sheeps enjoying some of the last of the season’s apple branches in celebration of today’s Seahawks win.

I find watching sheeps peaceably munching to be very satisfying and soothing.
The world needs more of that.

The Next Sweater

I finished the cowl, and it is lovely

and so snuggly

Also cast on for a hat this week because I was so anxious to practice my corrugated ribbing with the Norwegian purl technique

Hat got finished up in the closing minutes of the Seahawks game today and is now resting after it’s bath.
And I am again between projects.

Would really like to get started on a sweater, but haven’t settled on a design yet.

I’d kind of like to do something cable-y.
But that would mean a solid color, and lots of yardage.

Or I could do some colorwork.

I kind of like to look of Absinthe

which of course has neither cables or colorwork.

But it has an interesting neckline and 3/4 sleeves which I dig.

So you can probably tell I really have no idea what direction I’m moving in.

And I can’t start the week without a project.

This is why I end up with piles of hats 🙂

Suggestions welcome.

And Denise learning a new skill!

Oh Norwegian Purl, where have you been all my life!? 🙂 Can’t wait to try it out on some corrugated ribbing.

And, I am really close to finishing the Tomato Bisque cowl (maybe 90%).

I think that is probably the closest I have come to accurately capturing the color of the yarn.
September light seems to suit it!
