It’s Hard to Know What to Say

You probably know that Edgar had been having some problems recently.

The seizures seemed to be becoming more frequent, and while he’d come back after some pretty rough moments here over the last three months, it became clear to me on Tuesday that he was not going to be able to recover this time.

If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you know that Edgar was a really special guy.
He was a good friend of mine, and I’m so thankful for the time I had with him.

He is deeply missed, by me and the rest of the flock.

We had to put down two of my pet sheep this week, the second one this morning. Vastly different problems, cascading heartbreak. I understand.

I am so sorry, Denise! I knew Edgar was a special guy, but I obviously hadn’t read enough of your blog posts – I didn’t realize he’d been having seizures too. I had an epileptic dog for many years, and I know how scary they are – can’t even imagine dealing with this in my sheep. Edgar will always be remembered.

thanks Maureen. It was scary, and we never got to the root of what was causing it. He is at rest now, but there is a leadership void out in the pasture. He was the guy in charge out there.
